In most apps there seems to be a some sort of dedection going on for what country the user is from and then the inapp is displayed in the right currency. For example most apps I enter display the inapp prices in SEK because I am from Sweden. How do you detect and show it like this in Fusion?
In Fusion that is the default behavior for both iOS and Android. It always show formatted prices in the Device's language.
For iOS, use ProductFormattedPrice$( "iOS Store" ), for Android use ProductPrice$( "In-App Android", <id> ).
Though you might need to set up the national prices in iTunes Connect / Google Play for it to work. But I wouldn't know, I always set them up before testing.
Thanks! So can you detect what language the user is using with this also at start of frame and if you have localized your game set the language that is supposed to show in general?
this is done by google billing library and react according to your setting in google play developer console.
I tried to change my language on my ipad to German but the prices are still showing up in SEK in all apps, how can I test this out to see that it works with other languages?
Also can you retrieve what language the device is using? I notice Angry Birds 2 does this even when you are offline. The game displays german text when I start it with my device changed to german.
On Android you can use the Android Plus extension to get and set the language.
On iOS you can use the iOS extension to get the language.
You'll need to look into localization docs online to see what the different country codes are.
Thanks Popcorn! Do you know about how to test out if retrieving the price in the right country works? I only tested on iOS so far, but even when changing all languages to German on my device it still showed up in Swedish SEK for me. Could it somehow have to do with my itunes account being set to Swedish? Not sure where to change that, do you have any idea?
I don't know about that. I wouldn't spend to much time worrying about it though.. That obviously something Apple / Google doesn't want us to mess around with.
Hmm should be some way to test it though to see that your buttons are big enough etc for different currency? I have actually seen many times in other apps that when the price is shown in SEK it is longer then in $ so the text is bigger then the button and it looks very ugly. It must be some way to see that you are retrieving the right currency also? It would feel a bit scary to just release without any testing.

It is very very common they make the buttons to small for the currency in other countries like SEK for example. Seems they design only for how it looks like with $. I dont know if it is even worse in other country currencies like korean where they have really big numbers. There must be some way to test this with different currencies?
It retrieves the pricing information based on your account region, not device language.
Do you know how to change the account region?
Sounds to me you need something like this. It a "surround box" for any text, making sure the text wouldn't go outside the edges.
Requires the Calc Rect object (works on most runtimes including Android and iOS).

Speaking of blitters and strings, is it possible to include a font for a string with the build?
Strings are so much easier then blitters but the reason I always use blitters now is that if you use a font with a string that the user does not have it shows some other font so it seems very unreliable?
Yes, you can include fonts for both iOS and Android. For iOS you do it in XCode, for Android you use the FontPacker extension.
I don't know about Textblitters. You might need to make your own customized code for that. For the Calc Rect extension to work, it needs to know the font used along with its size and type settings.
How about on PC or Flash?
