Ported HTML5 App Works With Some Broswers On Some Computers But Not Others

I purchased the HTML5 plug in and ported an app onto a server. I tried to run the app on IE, Firefox, and Internet Explorer on both my laptop and desktop (the desktop is my main working and much newer machine). For both machines (64 bit) I downloaded the latest version of each of the three browsers. This was the result.

Laptop IE YES Firefox YES Chrome YES

Desktop IE NO - says need latest version Firefox YES Chrome NO - hangs with install bar 3/4 through

IE Laptop V 11.09600.17691 Desktop V 11.09600.18314

Chrome Laptop V 20.0113257 Desktop V 51.0.2704.84m 64 bit

Curious if anyone can tell me what is going on here. Seems pretty weird and it would be nice to have some confidence that these apps would work on other people's computers.

I did check the IE and Chrome add-ons and there are no significant differences between the two machines.

I've attached the HTML5 for you to look at.

Maybe check your settings on the browser and make sure they are all the same.

Does the browser in question play other HTML5 content?
There are some pure HTML5 stuff here -- https://superdevresources.com/open-source-html5-games/

You would also want to run the latest Fusion update after you install the module as the build that came out last week would be newer then the version from the store.

I downloaded your example and put it on my server -- Doesn't run here.
So without seeing the MFA I won't be able to say whats going on.

I was wondering -- The computer this stuff works on is that the same one you developed the projects on?
Did you happen to hard code something to that hard drive?

The computer that the application works on is not the computer that the project was developed on! Here is the MFA file. Opps - too big to upload.

All of the browsers play the HTML5 content from your link above.

When the problem app is run on IE on the original computer, it tells me that my browser cannot play HTML5 content and it is a Clickteam screen. When the problem app is run on Chrome on the original computer, it gives me a progress bar that stops and will not load.

Hmm weird -- I see it now.

The app is big but it should load -- Let me play for a bit to see whats going on.

Edit - I unchecked the option to load all data at start and it seemed to go

Thanks - I am getting closer. I made the change you suggested which is at www.darngoodsolutions.com/html6/index.html
Both your file above and this new file works on all three browsers on my laptop.
On the desktop: as before FireFox works on both files, Chrome opens the program but when a button is clicked it freezes on both files, and your file works on IE while mine says "this browser does not support HTML5."
Weird.
Any ideas on what could be causing these differences?

Just ran the two files on a laptop running Vista. Both files ran fine on IE and both froze when running Chrome. The machine did not have Firefox installed.

I've done some more exploring and come up with some answers. If I remove the sounds, then the app works fine on Chrome, Firefox, and IE EXCEPT on the IE on my main desktop computer where the app was developed. I've tried changing the IE settings to be the same as the other computer and searched the Internet for a solution but so far, no luck.

I would like to know why the sounds are not working using HTML5. Ah, looks like the sound "object" is not supported for HTML5. Bummer.
Well, it says that in the list of extensions, but the sounds work fine in IE (on the machine that will run it) and in Firefox.

Is there any way of playing sounds using HTML5 in Chrome that will not make it freeze?

And of course, I'm very curious why the app won't run on my particular copy of IE. I want to nail this down before I start porting apps since I want to be confident that they will work for my clients.

After much trial and error and fooling around, it seems that several of the sounds just would not work - the click01 and click01. When I replaced these with other sounds, everything worked fine. The HTML5 app now is playing sounds. I have no idea why this happens - my only guess is that the original file goes back to MMF 1.5 and somewhere in the translation... But it would not work even when I replaced the old click01 with the new click01. Anyway, only one mystery remains.

Why HTML5 will not work on IE on my desktop.

Where all the sounds the same bit rate and format?
There seems to be some bit rates that cause problems.

Do other HTML5 things work on the desktop? - made by other user and with/without made in Fusion?

Yes, all the sounds were the same bit rate and format - I checked that.

As far as IE not working on my Desktop, I've searched on the Internet and run a number of other HTML5 apps, and they all work fine. When I run mine, I get that IE does not support HTML5 (see attached graphic of screen).

Can you put in a bug report and mention all this?

I think there must be something in the detection routine that is not working right if other HTML5 content plays on that computer.

Idea:
If your using the stock index.html you can tweak the code yourself.

What happens if you remove this

I took out the code you suggested in the index.html file. Then I get an error "Your browser does not support canvas."

I took that code out too and I got a white screen.

The app only does not work on IE on my main desktop computer where the app was created. Your link to the app worked fine! Weird.

I copied your drneb.htm file and replaced my index.html file on my server. I then still get the your browser does not support canvas error. But I can run the app from your link fine using your drneb.htm file. So the problem does not seem to be in the html file but in the other folders.
