Is there an extension that allows mod file playback that is supported by the android exporter?
No, there is no extension for module playback on Android devices and I can hardly imagine you could simply create an extension for this purpose.
At the moment Fusion reacts to those formats already by converting the files into huge wav files when you build the APK.
It would be a great feature though and I hope we can have this feature in a future build of the Android Exporter!
(module playback on Android devices - .mod and .xm support would be cool enough)
Especially AndModPlug(first entry) looks like something that could eventually work with the Android Exporter.
Maybe Clickteam could draw up an agreement with the developer.

Another thing I found is the Xmp Mod Player(Google Play link) which supports many module formats and variations.

Thanks, I didn't think there was, shame there probably won't be anything until at least fusion 3 is released, outside of oggs, are there any other interesting music formats supported on android?

There are three games available on Google Play which use AndModPlug port of libmodplug. AndModPlug supports MOD and XM tracker format.
The first two games use MOD soundtrack and the latest game Microchip Monsters uses XM tracker format.

I couldn't find any information about games which use Libxmp library for tracker music playback.

How possible would it be for a genius to port an android mod playing plugin? I'd pay for the finished piece without doubt.
is not the port what we are always concern is the lag that may introduce to the runtime, this si something we r always checking, I will check those games in different devices and see how it behave, and then I will have an answer.

.ogg is a native OS library and does this internally, but according many developers depends on the devices, and are not trustable, related to MOD good thing is a c++ lib, let test and see, no test the above games though.

@fernando how much work is involved to port the library across? Does clickteam have to change the android exporter to accommodate a mod file player or would it just need turning into a compatible plugin?
at this time I have not clue, need to be check first maybe we can do a plugin and leave this for background music that will not affect other behavior and a lag is not important, but this conjecture are not supported until testing this.
