    As I disvocered you need about 1280x780 resolution, else you will be moving around and around.

    Yep, 100% black is transparent for MMF2. You can change 0,0,0 to for example 1,0,0 or 0,0,1 or 0,1,0 etc. This will be still black but not 100% black :P

    you can make mirror effect using viewport object. :) If you want to make only mirror of text, just make it active object and flip it.
