I have a rMBP 15' and I get blurry issues too with some applications. The software just needs to be updated to handle higher DPI settings, but it still functions like usual.
Or you can always use the sub-application object in a new frame, select the frame you want to use, toggle a flag for the pause and there you have it :)

This happens when you have the options enabled during resizing which can be eliminated if you uncheck them. No need to do vector at all if you create a big enough image and just shrink it down....
It wouldn't work on the OUYA due to it's width and hight of the banner. It would destroy the image so it would have it's own banner you create.
