Amazing. :D What great timing, thanks.

Amazing. :D What great timing, thanks.
Is there a way to limit the 'look in direction' event to a number of directions? I'm associating the object Order with the direction (i.e. if the left direction animation is displaying,...
Lovely. Yeah, I just want to avoid butting up against the 2GB application size limit.
I'd like to make a bunch of different rooms in one frame, but far away enough from each other so that when I teleport the character/camera to the next room the others will be offscreen....
A fair price. Good pricing is an integral part of a successful/moral business. Good work all.
Edit: "Run your whole application from a specific frame" That'll speed things up for me!
Just a few more days. Very exciting development in the Clickteam history books.
After reading the blog, I think for now I'd like to join the polite voices saying a bit more visibility would be great, at least as an option for the more senior users who might use it. That way...
That's my biggest question too, given how broad an area loading/saving is.
I am officially hyped.
You guys are getting me all hot and steamy with these positive impressions. SirEatAlot, what sort of performance problems were you having - just some framerate/memory struggles, or something more...
Thanks for the information and good community comms. Are the Windows runtime improvements limited to the new checklist options such as 'Optimize Events' and 'Optimize Image Size In RAM', or does...
Oh dear. :( I'm on 290.4 (Dev version, English) and can't seem to update. I've restarting my PC but had no luck after several attempts to update. Anyone experienced this when trying to install...
What are the numbers, Simon?
It's a poorly worded title, so I'll elaborate here.
I'm using the Character Image Object. I'm trying to make an editor that will grab some text from an editbox - the text has some formatting...
For anyone else who may encounter this issue: following the above advice from Andos solved the issue. I built an app (three times) and the issue seems to be resolved.
*If a kindly mod feels the...
I'd like to move an array from the PC version of my game to an MMF2 iOS app that will use/access the array, and also return said information when progress has been made on the app. Is...
Unfortunately I don't know, Francois - I haven't tried building for a while. All of the extensions Andos has listed have recently been added. Thanks for the suggestion Andos, I'll reinstall them all...
I get the above error message when attempting to run an application built with MMF2 Dev. As a result the app doesn't run. I built a...
It's v. pretty. Nicely done.
At the '11 convention Clickteam didn't seem to think there'd be a problem with implementing stacking pixel shaders in MMF3. I hope that's still the case as it's a staple of many good game dev tools.
...is sinking to dangerously normal levels. When's the next CC due so we can rectify this?
No challenge too great, no bridge too far.
Got a problem with code or a cat up a tree?
Make a call to Francois, he'll do it for free.
Corlen's method is what I use. You can layer groups, entire layers, specific objects, whatever you like. It's definitely worth investigating, and it's easy as pie, too.
You will however get a...
Nah, my project's in Direct 3D 9. It is solely layers in the frame editor that I can't apply an effect to anymore - shaders can be browsed through and applied to actives etc as usual.
Since this build I can't apply certain pixel shaders (they're greyed out) to layers in the Frame Editor. Am I doing something wrong?
Yves, every past update of HWA improved the performance and framerate of the more demanding parts of my application. Now 253 seems to have given me a performance boost of 2-3fps too, and while...
The above solution worked for what I needed, but I'm still quite curious as to whether the Surface Object has this function? It would be quite useful in the near future.
Of course! What was I thinking? Cheers LB. x
Andos has a good example of destructable terrain on his site;
You should find it quite easy to modify.
Okay, so I have an image of, for example, sand, that I'd like to carve lines through to reveal an object underneath. This is pretty easy to achieve - while the user holds down the left mouse button,...
That's exactly what I'm looking for, thank you. I'll pull it to bits and get started on my own.
Thanks for a kind writeup of my game, Paul. x
Nivram's site is indeed awesome. I don't believe I've found an example there that would solve my problem, though?
I'm looking to create several objects that can independantly move in 360 degrees in a specific direction while having a sin/cosine movement to them, too. I've drawn a diagram to best...
Ooh, yes, a rough number of attendees so far would be nice to know, assuming it's open for disclosure.
Ash in Medium, please.
Active Background object? I love you!
I have literally no idea what this means, but thanks anyway!
I have a boxing match that's been rescheduled for the 18th August, which is the Thursday just before the convention. Which means it's almost certain my face will be rather battered/cut. Just so...
I'd kill for this very shader. Kill, I say!
I assumed that was the case. However, is there a limit to the number of Paragraphs?
Work commitments have taken me away from MMF for a few months and I'm feeling rusty, so I've got a quick question which I hope is an easy one.
I have a detector that when it overlaps an...
MMF2 'HWA' is a version of MMF2. currently in pre-release version, that, in practise, gives you more power to play with. More info on HWA in general here:...
Hey Looki, I'll be testing this tonight when I get home - looks awesome! Are there any issues with scrolling?
Well, it strikes me (and correct me if I'm wrong, I've never even looked at the online capabilities of MMF2) that retrieving the gadgets data would be less of a procedure than grabbing the info from...
I'd like to request an extension that retrieves the current weather values from the Windows 7 Weather sidebar gadget.
If possible I'd like to get a feel for how easy/hard this would be to...
For anyone interested, I also fell victim to this bug(?) with rotating images and the outline shader applied to a layer, and found a solution to remove the borders that may also apply to you. In your...
That's really great news, Stephen - I'll certainly be using that extension!
I'm excited. Will test for bugs.
Rumour has it that owning a copy of Multimedia Fusion/The Games Factory increases user attractiveness by 32%, some sources indicate the increase is as high as 35%.
Isle Of Monte...
How can one resist the marketing gimmick of Multimedia Fusion 3D? Unfortunately, it's already been stated by Clickteam that MMF3 will come before a 3d version.
Woah, this is good. I finally dared to download it,and I'm glad I did. I've got a fairly intensive visual display in my game; over 6000 object on screen at a time, all with rotation and different...
Make your hero of two parts.
Yup, this is where my excitement lies. With the right marketing, there's no reason this won't be big.
Soz, there was a popular thread where it was discussed and requested by a few people a while ago, assumed most had seen it. I'll try and dig it out.
The swaying grass suggestion remains one I'm hopeful for.
This makes me very, very happy.
Beta 3 - huzzah!!
Yves: any luck on getting the lens object supported thus far? Has it been a priority? Oh god I hope so...
A tickbox system with a Select all/Select None option for the Group list box would be heavenly, Yves/Francois.
Ah, thanks. I've noticed Dirext X+VRAM is very slow for me, now I know why. What are the differences between Direct 3D 8 and 9? They both seem very good.
Thanks guys, useful info. Any idea on the paragraph limit? If there is one, and it's under 1000, I'm going to have some problems later on in my project.
Dynamite: If you run frame as opposed to Application frames it's going to mess up. Are you doing that?
Also, if you want it to 'go closer' (I'm assuming you want it to zoom in from start of frame,...
How many flags per object are allowed?
What is the limit on number of paragraphs on the string object?
Do alterable values have a maximum and minimum number?
Thanks in advance.
Strangely, it started working on my PC with no input from me. So I've been playing around with walk in the park a lot, and I notice that if I create too many duplicate walls, the collisions cease to...
Thanks Looki, that worked fine.
I'd like to create an awesome effect for a game, which is to make the visible frame revert to monochrome (black and white, for the unsure) upon command, then revert back to its normal...
Nice work, and here's a similiar example:
I tried that one, but it doesn't execute the event just the once.
That's what I use to destroy, yep. And load again, too.
Thing is, I got it working to a degree, but the create event keeps repeating itself.
I've tried it with all of the objects made, the...
I looked at the one I think you're referring to (Racingline3D) but it doesn't have an example of an opponent.
However! The file 'Snow' does, for anyone else who's interested.
hello lol cud sum1 pls help with this problem i hav
Okay, I'm not that stupid, but I'm feeling pretty simple at the moment thanks to this problem I'm having, and I suspect it's got a simple answer...
Instead, here's a question for you: adding a character is easy enough, but I wouldn't even know where to start making NPC racers. Could you shed some light on this?
I'm also having problems getting this to work, and it's a shame because from what I've seen it's amazing.
The exe works fine.
I have the two dlls in both the standard and HWA runtime folders,...
If you hold jump and move forward, you'll find it kills/glitches the effect. A simple parallex effect can be achieved with MMF2's inbuilt layers and a layer's scrolling options in the properties...
None of these factors much affect whether you've got a software fault or not. Given the unique errors you've experienced with the program, it's likely there's something wrong at your end.
Specifically, I've got some background music (.wav) and I want it to play across two frames - so I leave frame 1 and it continues at the same place on frame 2, with a pause. There are no fades or...
The Mouse Object looks like it's exactly what I need, I'll have a play around with it. Cheers Werbad.
I've posted this elsewhere asking for help, but it can't hurt to ask here as well.
I'm having some problems. Ideally I want Counter = 0, set Cursor to Position 0,0 relative to Active 1. So when I...
It played perfectly on mine.
Awesome and dedicated work, Looki.
Where exactly do the folders (effects, Blurs etc) go? In the main directory?
I did say desperate...
I thought there might be a value between condition for counters, but as the two conditions above do the job, there's no need for one.
Thanks for the help, guys. :D
They do indeed, I had a confliction which I missed after three checks. Three! Jeez.
In a desperate attempt to make this thread worth something, I take it there isn't a 'between' expression, then?
...for example, 5 and 10', start animation.
I tried this event:
But it doesn't seem to work. Is there a 'between two values' expression? I thought it might be "-".
Weird, I installed this via the fusion updater and went to the example folder to check it out, but one didn't even exist for the Advanced path find. The extension is up and running in MMF. Am I...
I'd like to second this request; an 8 dir custom movement where you slide along surfaces *when at an angle) instead of stop at them.
Curses! I assumed I'd missed something...
Thanks for the quick answers.
Say if Counter = 1, set Active 4 to Group:Bad.
Is it possible to set groups other than in the properties of the object itself? I'm sure I've done it before.
Oops! Sorry, to SEELE. Wiiman's example has a random weather generator, and it's quite similar to mine... however, I'm a little OCD and am always looking for the most efficient code possible, and...
Are you planning on elaborating on one of your points, the one on random weather and the probability of it? How would you do it?
I've seen mention of re/definable controls for MMF2 applications, perhaps involving an extension, perhaps not. Can someone fill me in, or link to an example, please?
You could use counters, or if you wish to be neat and tidy, you could consider alterable values; at start of frame, set the alterable value A of enemy to, say, 7. Each time he's hit, subtract 1. When...
Firstly, here is the .mfa to help me explain myself.
(Link lasts for 7 days)
I'm making a random movement for an ingame butterfly and I really...
Thank you, that's really excellent.
I've had a play around and it seems the most efficient way: excellent news. Rather than start a new topic: the only other issue I have is creating a day/night effect. I don't need anything fancy,...
That's precisely what I've done, I wondered if there were any other preferable methods out there.
I have an issue creating a day/night effect. I don't need anything fancy, just a number of fades from one colour to another across the course of a game day, based upon the time of day...
Ack. It's alright, thanks for trying. Hopefully someone else can help.
Yeah, it took me a while to remember why I went to youtube in the first place when I spotted the plethora of net yaroze/demo disk vids.
An example would be excellent, thank you!
An interesting title screen sets a good first impression, and I'd like to create a rotating menu where the topmost option is the one selected upon the press of a key, similar to this...
