Unfortunately, it still crashes... I am using the latest (official) build.
Thanks for the reply, Anders!
There is another screen. I hope it tells a bit more about the problem than the previous one.

Hi,
I am updating an existing version of my app and I had a problem as I tested it with the new build beta (283.1) with XCode 6.0.1.
I am not sure whether it is a bug or I am doing something wrong...
Thank you very much, Kisguri! :)

Thanks Olivier. Then I was doing something wrong... :S
Sorry, it was my inattention. The "Click on an object" event works now. However, it is good to know that the "Check for mouse pointer over an object" is not recognized anymore.
I can confirm this bug. I made a scrolling „level select” frame and it immediately stopped working with the latest stable build. Is it worth using the latest beta?
Thanks a lot, Fano! You are really generous!
AFAIK you need to use the Facebook SDK to use the Facebook app for sharing. This could be done with the help of a new extension, as Happygreenfrog said. The FB app can be opened via a simple URL (the...

I had difficulties when I wanted to use the java exporter for mac, too. I haven't tried the anaconda yet, but it might be better. Also, there will be a native osx runtime as far as I know.
Yeah, than I'm sorry that I couldn't help... :P
I stopped using MMF2 Java for such purposes because my apps appeared and worked differently on my Mac.
Try to use the GET object for getting text from the net.
I think it appears only in Applets. As I can remember, I couldn't use widgets in my java application, neither (the object had its own events to behave the same way in every frame). Only normal events...

That's really a good idea. You can make later an app file with the JarBundler of the developer package and the executable jar file (which makes the ini file in its own directory) will be inside this...
Really nice update, thanks!
That's an amazing huge work, thanks Fanotherpg!
That's really interesting!
Thanks!
Hello!
There's still a bug with the String object -> Background options -> Wipe with color. This option does not work when application runs.
Thank you for the update and for your hard work! :)
Wow, you're really a professional. Thanks a lot!
I will change it if I'll have some time.
It's really nice, SEELE! I think it's better than mine was. The one I made some months ago was slower, I don't know why.
Thanks to Nivram, my example is available on his website:...

Sorry, the bug I reported yesterday is not a new one. So I haven't found new bugs in this version yet.
Bug: String object -> Background options -> Wipe with color does not work.
Thank you for the update! That's really a lot of work. :)
Yes, thanks to Marv, these examples can be found on his website.
By the way, if everything runs fine, I will be able to relaunch my website in the summer. I will post the new links here, too.
I agree. And I think this level of security will be enough.
Unforunately, the PHP file can be executed from its URL easily, that's why we added the security key. As I know, the String Parser extension can convert a string to an md5 hash, so you can use it to...
You can do that with a simple PHP file:
$myFile = "flatFile.txt";
$fh = fopen($myFile, 'a') or die("can't open file");
if($_GET["name"]!="" && $_GET["value"]!="" && $_GET["key"]=="123456")...
You can use a flat file to store data but I currently I'm not able to upload an example, sorry.
I will do it as soon as possible.
You should use the Get object if you want to make your app communicate with the web server.
A good thing is that you don't have to sign the applet to use this extension. :)
Jamie, your idea might be dirty, but it works very well. Also, it does not make a new file for every new query. (I've used the actual time instead of the random number, though. :D )
It's a txt file. Do you know what I should write into the htaccess file?
Oh, I understand now!
To be honest, this application will run on other servers too. So I'm not sure that all of my customers will be able to change their server rules.
We'll see what Jamie can do...
Thanks, Dynasoft, but I think these files are stored in Java's own cache folder and users can disable caching in the Java preferences. So this cache is not the same as the browser's cache.
Wow, that's very kind of you, Jamie! Thank you very much!
Does the Standalone Java Internet Applet have access to the cache folder to delete the stored temporary files? Just because this problem can appear on Windows, too. There's the page that explains how...
Thank you Dynasoft for your answer! I've found the problem: there's a cache folder on my Mac that stores temporary files for fast access. I have to delete the stored file.
I'm using Jamie's Get object in a Standalone Java Internet Applet. It works great but there's a problem: The Get object does not recognize if there's a change in the source file (refreshing the page...
As I know, Unicode version is coming soon... :)
It won't run itself, try to open the HTM file that was generated by MMF2.
MMF2 generated a HTM file beside the JAR file. Copy and paste the code from the HTM file into the source of the website to embed the application.
You'll need a bit of PHP and HTML.
Thanks a lot for your reply, Jeff!
I've already seen this tutorial, it is really great. I will try to convert it to Java! (Unfortunately I also don't have many free time in these weeks, but I will...
I would also appreciate it, an example that works in Java, too!
It seems very useful, thanks!
Does anybody else have this problem? (Sorry for bumping.)
I'm just curious: has anybody managed to make an online highscore board in Java? I know it's possible in theory with the Get object but has anybody made one that's really working?
I know I should...
I think this widget is a very useful!
Thanks a lot!
I've just found a bug: "copy text to clipboard" feature freezes the Stand-alone Java Internet Applet.
It's quite same as the iPhone runtime but there's a seperate SDK for it, as I know.
Can anybody confirm the bug of the Edit Box object that its 'Horizontal autoscroll' option does not work properly? (In Java applications, of course.)
Thanks! :)
Can you confirm the bug with the Edit Box object? (Horizontal autoscroll does not work.)
Thank you for the excellent update! I hope I will have time to test as much feature as I can.
Does the "horizontal autoscroll" option for the Edit Box object still not work in Java?
I'm using some sort of data-storing in my open-source 20 event competition entry (Fireball Factory):

Sorry, I haven't changed this thread. I can't reproduce this bug ("Ensure cell is visible") with the latest build of MMF2. So, thanks to Clickteam, Datagrid object is improving! :)
I'm glad it's useful!
Thanks to Marv, it will be available on his website, too:
http://www.castles-of-britain.com/mmf2examplespage10.htm
I also couldn't get it work, I am curious, too!
Thanks for the great extension!
It think you should simply try to build a standalone java application, then create an app with the latest JarBundler (part of the Apple Developer package). It works for me very well!
That's very useful and good to know, thanks, Looki!!
I'm wondering how many "secrets" are there that haven't been revealed yet! :P

Thanks Variant, but this won't work on other platfoms.
Thanks your work, Jamie and AquadaSoft developers!
It will be excellent, Jax!
Sorry... it's corrected now.
Thanks for the report. :)
Thanks Andos for the reply!
Yes, I add and delete lines from the list (only this two actions).
I'm using the List object in one of my application. When I try to build an internet applet, it says that the unsigned application may crash because of this object.
It really crashes, but my...
Other option would be the Moosock object, as I know, but I couldn't get it work.
So, currently there isn't other way. I managed to get the Get object work on Mac but only in Standalone Java...
There are some bugs with essential features that have to be corrected, I think.
Then it was really a bug, sorry Looki, I checked it in beta #9 of build 249 and I didn't see it...
I mean: there's no effect when you check the "wipe background with color" option.
@ Looki: You mean, you unchecked this option but keyboard shortcuts activate still the menu items? It works for me...
Another bug: String object's wipe background with color does not work.
I can confirm this, and when we zoom out, the applet will be cropped.
But this happens not only to MMF2's applets (however, I've already seen applets on the web that are correctly resized when you...
Sorry, my English isn't the best... :)
By the way, is it possible to convert sound files automatically to the proper .wav file when building Java? What does Clicteam think?
@Fanotherpg: Yes,...
Yes, I understand, I've this problem, too. :) My post was just a suggestion for MMF2, it might be the solution, I think.
When you save to Java mobile MMF2 converts any sounds from your application into mobile compatible .wav, am I right? May MMF2 do the same when you save to Java internet applet/standalone Java...
Thanks for the great update! Excellent new features. :)
I've found some bugs:
- Special characters (for example á, é, ó) work on PC when you save to Java but they aren't displayed correctly on...
I think these features would be also useful in MMF2's Java:
- Only a specific .wav file works in Java. As MMF2 converts all of the audios into the correct format in Java mobile, it would be useful...
Frame rate is different on each mobile phones.
I made once a game for mobile with MMF2 and it ran extremely slow on my phone. One of my friend tested it on his phone, and he couldn't play it because...
It sounds really nice, thanks!
It also does not work in Java, as I know.
Good luck synchronising that.. [/quote]
I did that in one of my game. It wasn't too hard to add sound to it: if current frame of Active is X, play sound.
This is a great update, thanks!
Could you correct the Edit Box bug before releasing the build 249? It's quite an important feature (horizontal autoscroll does not work in Java).
There's a bug I've already mentioned:
This hasn't been corrected in beta #8 yet.
I've found a bug in Java with the Edit box object: the "Horizontal autoscroll" property does not work correctly (it does not scroll at all, neither on key pressing).
(Reported here:...
My first game ported to java: Blue Friends.

New version is coming soon!
Or NVO. :)
Thanks, FVivolo!
That's great to hear, Jamie! Thanks!
Hello!
Is it possible to add a feature to the Standalone Java Internet Applets like the one that the Vitalize! apps have too: run only from (URL)?
I think it would be really useful.
Simon
Excellent update! Also the vertically centered string was a problem I've had before. Thank you!
Back to this topic for a question:
Does the "Named Variable Object" behave in the same way? Or is it more flexible?
I haven't experienced with it yet, but if it caches the data during runtime and...
Useful article, thanks!
That's really great, thank you Jamie and others for working on this extension!
Great, thanks!
I was glad to see that there are many new converted extensions in Java. However, the Calculate Text Rectangle object does not work - it simply does not calculate the size of the text.
Try to build a Standalone Java Application first, not an Internet Applet. These extensions won't work until you sign the applet because they can read/write to the computer.
I've posted my notes about the new beta in this thread.
It's possible that your game is using an extension that doesn't work in Java internet applets. Or your game is simply a bit larger and you have to wait to get it running.
I've opened this topic to write here our notices in connection with the new beta of Build 249.
- "Include global events" property - It's very useful!
- Bug in 12/24 hour mode in the Date & Time...
Thanks a lot, really nice update!
I think Looki is speaking about the Dungeon generator extension... but if he releases it, it will be a great hit!
Excellent extension, thanks!
Fourth: The Active System Box works well in the Sub-Application!
My second remark: the Load Frame action of the Active object does not work. If the action itself is present in the built application (I mean: it doesn't have to be called by an event), the...
Thank you, this is great work!
First remark: the Date & time object works excellent on Mac! The only thing is that it works in 12 hours format if it is set to 24 hours format.
That's really great work, thank you very much!
I will test it as soon as possible.
It would be definitely useful.
It looks excellent!
By the way, could this (the filename) be the problem also of executing external apps? Just because it does work on Windows but not on Mac.
Ok, thanks!
Can you correct this problem?
Really nice!
Here's an example:
http://czentnar.extra.hu/LoadImage.zip
It contains three files: the source .mfa file, a .png image to load and an example .jar file.
Thanks,
That's good to know. I think I can solve the problem somehow, it isn't a big problem.
Thanks! :)
Congratulations for your son!
We haven't been waiting so long, it isn't problem at all!
Thank you for answering the posts!
Thanks RickyRombo and Jamie for your reply!
I will try to make an example because it isn't as simple as I explained.
There's one INI file and a frame with a Sub-Application in it.
The frame...
I've got a problem with the INI object (it works in Java quite well, anyway):
Once an ini file is loaded, it won't be refreshed in the next time.
For example:
- Start of frame:
Set INI file...
Yes, I mean that... thanks!
Is it possible to correct this problem?
There's a problem with the Active Object's "Load frame" action, it doesn't work in Java.
You can try it simply by setting the Active Object's frame to $Apppath+"image.png".
Or... am I doing...
I got memory error in the frame "Land of light dreams". It's not the game's fault - Nokia 5000 handles these mobile games quite bad.
That's excellent, thanks!
Francois, could you test the example file? (http://czentnar.try.hu/ASBoxInSApp.mfa)
So, the Active System Box does not work in the Sub-Application object (in Java).
But it seems that the Window control object causes also crash in the Sub-Application. Please see the example above.
Really nice example. Thanks, SEELE!
Sorry...
Here it's (I forgot the letter "S"):
http://czentnar.try.hu/ASBoxInSApp.mfa
Thanks!
Thank you Francois for your reply!

Thanks a lot for this great extension!
Beautiful effect! We'd be very happy if you finished this extension.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot Looki for this great extension!
Great! I have got a Nokia, so I will try it.
That will be really a great new feature! Thanks!
I like Get Object very much, it's an excellent extension.
Not only "Repeat while mouse key is pressed", but also other conditions of the Active System Box (check for mouse is over the object, user clicks on the object) do not work when multiple objects...
Some of these are really nice ideas!
I've reported several bugs in this thread in connection with the Java runtime, but I've mentioned a non-java related bug, too.
active picture could be the problem...
Sarah, that's really a pity that we can't use the Picture object in Java.
New Java bug: "Repeat while mouse key is pressed" does not work when mouse is over Active System Boxes.
Andos, I haven't heard this about anti-virus applications yet, it's interesting.
As far as I know, only Standalone Java Internet applets run in sandbox mode, Standalone Java applications don't....
Thanks Francois for your reply, but I'm speaking about Standalone Java applications. Or Standalone Java apps are also running in a sand box?
Here's an example:...
I'm getting into bug-testing... :)

- Is it possible to execute files, not only applications? I...
I've tested it. They still don't work.
- Edit Box: let me refine the bug - it never scrolls in the frame, never stays on its place if you save to Java. If you check "Follow the frame", it stays on...
Hello, I'd like to ask about some previous bugs if they are fixed:
- The Edit Box object does not scroll in the frame if you save to Java. It behaves always like it follows the frame.
- The...
Thank you for testing, maVado and stephen1980. So, this is really a bug of the Datagrid object's "Ensure cell is visible" action.
Could anybody find a solution for this problem?
So... Can anyone confirm this bug?
Sorry, I've uploaded a wrong file. Here's what I'm speaking about:
http://czentnar.extra.hu/DatagridBug2.mfa
Can anyone confirm this bug?
Sorry, I've found a bug that can't be solved by checking "Run while resizing". It causes the same problem:
http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=154788#Post154788
KNP ran under Mac as I can remember...
There was a bug with the Datagrid object few months ago. Yves suggested to check the "Run while resizing" option and it ran well!
Now, the bug appeared again ("Run while resizing" is still checked):...
Thanks, Nivram!
You're welcome, Proy. I'm glad that I could help! :)
Proy, I made an example for you:
http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=154050#Post154050
This is an example for Proy: drag and rotate an object.
http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=153638&gonew=1#UNREAD
I hope it will work.
Drnebula and Atom answered the question.
Thank you very much!
Can we expect the correct version of the Date & Time object for Java in build 249?
Yes, it's ATan2... thanks Looki, your code is better! :)
You can set the angle depending on the mouse position:
ATan(XMouse-X("Active"), YMouse-Y("Active"))
(I hope it's ATan - it's the arc tangent expression)
It sounds amazing! I'll try it.
Thanks a lot, everybody!
Oh, and thanks Dynamite for the idea! He asked me to make the engine for his project.
