I'm trying to quickly make a little platformer using the xbox 360 controller object in Fusion 2.5. I always use the PMO. I was just wondering if anyone could tell/show me how to set up...
I like the simple gameplay mechanics here. Looks pretty fun.
Looks like a well made game so far. I especially like the smooth animations of the enemy deaths.
The one thing that does bug me are the platforms themselves. I feel if you're going to go all out...
Its not exactly using one PMO, but Nifflas made an example for creating and destroying multiple instances of PMO for enemies/groups/creatures back in 2008, for MMF 2.
Hello. I am looking for the Rehn's wiimote extension. Unfortunately, the creator isn't sure if it's still around. Does anyone happen to know where I might download it nowadays? After searching high...
Hmm there is a lot of pixel dithering in that first screenie :(
Make every single item an active and make it scale up or down at the same time, and reposition. Super efficient.
Distant J I'm pretty sure your theory of the whole "nothing is original" (which I partly agree with by the way) is just some kind of self-reassurance because your own game is a clone? That's what it...
Well he's hardly helping himself.
Ill clone your game and sell it, then.
I take it this will be free then?
Reasonable graphics, but from the trailer the gameplay looks mind numbingly repetitive.
What was wrong with Gwerdy chat?
platform movement object.
Pixelthief also made an example recently:
His download link: http://sites.google.com/site/claniraq02/simplechain.mfa
It could be to do with where your hotspots on your actives are, especially if its happening when changing direction.
It should be possible. Perhaps try asking Pixelthief - his latest project looks to revolve all over the place.
"The stream is 1080P HD so everyone should have a great view of things!"
Looks like the whole Cambridge thing suits Chris and Stopgap to a tee.
There's than the south to be considered. That, and people's personal preferences ;)
Another week and Id probably have my game finished :(
I clicked around a bit. Had no idea what was going on though.
I put my 3D glasses on and it made little difference o_O perhaps being short sighted doesn't help.
Edit: Atom how can you comment on the effect if you still need to buy some glasses?
I know this is finished (or there abouts), but when you select the X and Y coordinates that the object moves to, it would be really cool to select the position in the frame editor, if that makes...
Perhaps try contacting Fifth about this kinda thing. Most of his games seem to use similar methods on the characters.
He's on msn all the time but I believe he's pretty busy with work right now.
Another interesting Andos extension ^^
I will probably somehow implement this into most of my games for some nice effects :)
Edit: Thanks also ^^
Out of interest how image heavy is the game? Any large graphics or large animations?
Corsica is on my top list of places to visit :)
Im glad you think the human body is capable of sliding back on it's knees to save one's head :)
It's nice, but when he starts to get on to his left knee, both of his knees and legs slide away into the lying position... I didn't think that seemed very realistic, unless he's on a really slippery...
Don't see the problem yet, but from first impressions Id say for what you've made it could be a lot simpler. You could even just use an animation of the plant popping up and it'd save a lot of...
It's nice, but is also a bit too fast. The majority of fireworks Ive ever seen tend to look like they're in slow motion, especially if they're larger ones.
That particular kind of firework usually...
Could have been that specific in the first place :P
You can use the perspective object (sinewave effect) and alter the offset during gameplay, or ( and probably more efficently) use one of Looki's shaders.
I see you made a couple of PMO help threads now, with relatively simple problems.
Did you try taking a look at the PMO examples that come with the extension? They're really quite self explanatory...
Since when did Cecil's snake get a graphical revamp? ._ .
Some impressive examples :)
I guess you could just compare two general values (the X velocity of the PMO) and assign the different animations to that. So
X velocity of PMO is a certain value, PMO is moving, PMO is on ground...
Hmm you could make it better with randomizing angles upon creation of the clouds.
Very similar to
And as impressive as these effects are (because they are really nice) Why the...
You can use another Platform movement object, give it detectors to jump or climb whenever they dont overlap/overlap a wall, compare x and y positions to the main player etc :)
I find using the...
This is one of the most impressive effects Ive seen done in MMF2 :) Playing with the anchor points alone is a somewhat satisfying activity.
PMO is jumping/falling- player presses down, stop the character, play a spin animation, after the spin animation increase the PMO gravity to pound the ground?
Of course, you could always leave the...
Nevermind Jamie helped me \ :) /
I was just wondering, is there anyway of getting the speed of the mouse in MMF2 (HWA)? As in telling if it's moving fast or slow during runtime? I did a search but didn't find much....
Pretty cool :D
"Will it work on my Lobby Game if converted? If not, what did I do wrong?"
How do you expect people to answer that?
Konjak is awesome at making epic bosses for platformers.
Well an example would be nice..but if someone like me can use it on their own, I guess it's not crucial :)
How do the ripples work again? O.o I just tried to create ripples again, like I did last night, and they dont seem to work? First time I did it, it seemed really simple and straight forward :o
Check out the examples :)
Like all graphical extensions, I like this :) But is it different to what can be done with the lens object?
Yay. I made some rain :)
You need a lot more free time :(
Why the need to keep pointing that out? >_<
Are there any shaders that create a nice paper-texture effect? Would be nice to be able to apply that to an entire layer and have a paper-look game :)
If you're going to make a graphics based article I'd say examples are pretty important @_@
It's been 5 days since this was posted, and he still hasn't replied, why are you so bothered? Just ignore it? :P
works on my computer.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the other day I was thinking it would be kind of useful (for me anyway):
To have a feature that allows all frames to be edited at once, in a...
Yes, please finish it ¬_¬
If you want to resize a sprite, why not use MS Paint's resizing functions (CTRL and - or + on the number pad)?
You'd have to do it to...
looks interesting :)
"3D Gaming is like Mordor. One does not simply walk into it."
Lol. That was really geeky :D
Awesome, seems a lot easier than phizix for people like me ;)
Yes, that is the closest to what I was thinking of so far :) Although it goes crazy when the mouse is moved quickly .
Well, the bridge example with the phizix extension would probably work if I could figure out what the programming means :D
Well to be honest I can barely understand phizix (I can't even make a custom platform movement very well), but I was wondering how to make a more curvy string that flops around a little, made of...
Wow:O thanks a lot stephen :O :D Just have to find linesurface.mfx :)
Well... not overly realistic, but something that dangles and moves in a reasonably believable way ;)
Okay, so I'm wondering how I could program a dangling string? The string doesn't have to do anything, just dangle for effect.
The player moves a balloon around using the mouse, and the string...
Thanks Looki, problem solved :) Very simple problem XD
Oh, the image resized itself. -_ - Here's a link
I'm trying to make a couple of layers in my game transparent during runtime. I have searched for the answer, and I couldn't find a lot although I'm sure it will have been asked many...
Hmmm... it's okay, but I would have scraped the black outlines on the stars. Also I've seen a lot easier ways of creating similar effects, using less events :)
"Full screen works." YAY! :D :D
