    regarding percent values

    Question:
    when I retrieve the joystick distance in percent, pushing all the way right or down gives me 100%, but when I push all the way left or up it's only -99%. Is this right? Isn't it supposed...

    There are a few trackers specifically for nsf out there, like Famitracker. There's also MML, but it's much harder to use. It does have more features, though.

    Or you could use the subtract effect. That one's pretty popular, too. You'd need to use a yellow-ish color to make it look right.

    I have noticed on multiple occasions that MMF2 has problems with certain types of PNGs. It doesn't seem to support PNGs of color type 3 (index color) nor do any of the extensions, at least using MMFs...

    I don't think you can use floating point numbers for transparency. Try using -1 and +1. If you want it to fade in more slowly then try using every 0.02 or something.

    Yes, a good approach, but to make it really smooth you'll need to use a calculation.
    First make your active object pure black (0,0,0)(you might have to change it's transparent color)....
