Over 100 Terrifying sounds!!
No clue where to update to show I have 2.5.
I'm not opposed to the Steam to Standalone. Even with a conversion charge, the Exporters still come out as a bargain.
Whatever works for you guys. ...
Ditto, here. I bought the bundle, even though I already have the developer edition. Can I transfer my developer edition to a Steam developer edition? This was worth it for the UWP exporter alone.
Whoo!! Looking forward to trying this out
Thank you, Francois

Correct. It's the going back to a menu behavior, not quitting, that is more critical.
Cyberbeard, the timer workaround discussed in the other back button thread worked for me - but it is still...
Francois, any ETA on the HTML 5 export module? I'm assuming we can make Windows 8 store apps with it.
I haven't found anything that actually says the next Xbox won't support XNA. I found that the TOOLS for the platform are no longer being developed....
I was having that issue until I took out the background music from my app, which greatly reduced the whole performance problems, too, that kept mine from passing.
Sorry if I have cause some confusion, so I will update what I have learned since the original post.
- Yes, Visual Studio Express 2010 for Windows Phone 7 can be installed side-by-side with the...
Finally!
I had to lose the background music to get it to pass the performance/unresponsive issue, but it is out on marketplace.

Thanks, Clickteam!

BTW, the timer workaround worked enough that it my app passed certification, this time, but the issue still actually exists. It's a tricky bit of timing, and one that can't really be expected of...
XNA is not supported on Windows RT. I am going to assume that the HTML5 exporter Francois is working on will let us create Windows Store applications that will run on RT and PRO.
XNA applications...
FYI, if any of you are going to use VS 2012 for Windows Phone 8 - it requires your PC actually has hardware virtualization.
Just send me a PM with the info to get the HTML5 or whatever you want me to test with WP8/Win 8 and I'll get on it.
FYI, my 7.0 app passed certification, my second app at 7.1 did not because it...

My understanding is that 7.0/7.1 apps will still work with WP8, but from a marketplace submission point I don't know if 7.0 will be accepted. The last app that I just submitted was just a single...
It worked, inconsistently, if you just tap the back button the app exits. If you hold it a little bit, then it works. If you hold it too long then it goes to FAS. We'll see how MS Certification...
I made the changes - we'll see. Fingers crossed.
I tested and the upgrade to 7.1 definitely breaks it. I thought the marketplace wasn't excepting anything less than 7.1 now, so I guess I'll find out.
Thanks for the help, Dobermann.

Ok, I really don't get it. Please take a look at this MFA and see if I did anything different from you. https://www.yousendit.com/download/WUJiTGszQVN6RTlFQmNUQw
- Running MMF Build 255, XNA...
I had already reinstalled once on Win 8, but who knows.
I have the Surface RT. Win 8 with touch makes you realize how well thought out it is. Beautiful piece of hardware.
Ok, tried the exact same thing in my project: failed - same results where it exits the app. Made a copy of your app, left your XNA the same, brought my assets in...same failure as before.
I'm...
That worked. I swear it isn't any different than I have done before, but it worked. Well, the one thing you did was put the XNA object on the stage. I'll try again.
I re-built the phone project...
dobermann, there was no MFA file in the zip. I wasn't able to run the project in VS. I got this error when I tried to run in the emulator: Error 1 Error loading pipeline assembly...
Thanks, Dobermann, I'll take a look. I may have to try re-installing the XNA module. Were you on Win 7 or Win 8?
I made a new project and I added the back button event to a behavior for the XNA object to see if that made any difference (instead of just a frame event). The result was the same.
You can get...
XNA doesn't run on Windows RT.
The Surface Pro is coming out, but there are plenty of other Win 8 machines that run RT and legacy apps, such as XNA.
Dobermann,
I am using the Jump to Frame, too. Is your pause menu a Jump to Frame screen in the storyboard? I'll upload the MFA file. Both XNA and MMF2 are in English versions.
Dobermann, it's not the end game part that isn't working for me. I can't use the hardware back button to return to the main menu of my apps. That was why my app didn't pass certification because...
Ah, sorry, I misunderstood.
Any luck, Francois?
Much appreciated, Francois. I've been getting nowhere trying to figure out a workaround. One of my apps is for the holiday season, so I'm really trying to get it out.
MJK, the answer is actually both. Same issue for an app created with the 7.1 SDK and still exists in the WP8 SDK.
MJK, do you happen to have an example MFA I could try on my end and see if I am doing something wrong?
I tried the timer event, and I tried making the back button the second event like Dobermann suggested. No luck. Everything exits the app with, what looks like, an exception:
A first chance...
I'll give that a try. Thanks, MJK!
Is the back button only capable of exiting the application? I can't make heads or tail of the code in Visual Studio, so no hacking there. I need the back button to exit the app from the main...
MJK, the references in the wp8 sdk all need the minimum 7.1 (mango) compatibility. The Ad sdk was updated so if you want ads you definitely have to be at 7.1
I can't get the xna back button behavior to work as expected. On my apps regardless of the behavior listed in the events the app exits instead of jumping to the menu. My apps failed certification...

Well, the Advertising SDK reinstalled, but, it also seemed to remove some shared framework stuff. I think I'm going to have to go to my Win 7 machine as my XNA dev box and just WP8/Win 8 on my...
I'm working to confirm this by uninstalling my Windows Phone 8 SDK, but when I made a new app tonight I got a ton of errors on the Advertising object. I looked in the References and it was there...

Danny, I'm in Charlotte, NC, USA.
The back button issue was called out on my app, too, that regardless of any in-app button to end the application, the back button functionality has to work.

Thanks, Francois. I've been doing some more research and forum combing, too. There has been a lot of mixed responses about whether you should see real ads on your device when you test. I think MMF2...

Francois,
I tried creating a project from scratch with nothing in the MFA but a XNA Ad Control object. Same behavior. Test client info works, actual pubCenter data does not. let me know if you...
No change, Francois. I'm sending you a PM with the link to the files.
Thanks for taking a look.
Thanks,Francois. I'll try that tonight. I saved the CRunXNAadControl.cs when my application was saved with "test_client" info and again with my pubCenter data. I compared the two with...
Do I need to modify any of the code in the CRunXNAadControl.cs to get my ad ID?
ad=null;

int n;
for (n=0; n<rh.rhApp.advertisements.size(); n++)

Doesn't that event actually need to loop until the condition is met? If it ran once and the lives weren't destroyed, would it ever come back to that event?
By in-build movement, do you mean the types from the movement drop-down? Yes, I was using the 8 direction type. Is there a more appropriate one to use? My assumption was that if I use the Joystick...
I know this was made with iOS in mind, but I tried saving it as an XNA application for Windows Phone. I ended up with pretty weird behavior, mainly that the motions were reversed. If I tilted my...
Thanks for the great example. I was using the Lives object "have all lives been destroyed" and was not getting the right results. Your way worked.
Thanks, Jeff, I'll load that MFA up tonight. I did use Run Application. Does the order of events in the Event editor matter? Right now it is the last event.
I've tried to get my player controlled by the Accelerometer for my phone application but I can't figure out how to get it to work. I have looked at the help documentation. It is unclear whether I...
