  1. Re: To all game makers: change fullscreen mode

Because the MMF runtime runs better in Standard Mode than Direct X. I'm sure refresh rate doesn't cross many people's minds.

    Re: Zoom in/out

You can change the keyboard shortcuts under View -> Toolbars -> Customise -> Keyboard, you can change the zooming keys back to F2 and F3 like I did.
  3. Re: Unwanted interpolation at 320 x 240 (8800 GTX)

I have a BFG GeForce 8800 GTX and a CRT monitor, and I get the exact same thing, it looks kinda a bit too blurry actually. Can't find anything under the control panel that looks like it could alter...
  4. Re: Saving Frame Position does not save the angle

Added backdrops don't have to just be used for decals and stuff like that though, I know I've used Add Backdrop to change the shape of a level, add platforms etc.

    Re: Pasting in huge backdrops

Isn't there any way you can tile it? MMF2 seems to handle lots of little objects better than a huge one, so dividing it into separate sections would probably reduce lag, maybe.
  8. Re: Creator of the "3d mesh extension" still around?

Imagine the possibilities with a properly working version of the 3D mesh object. You could have a 3D character like New Super Mario Bros, or make Resident Evil style games, or parallax style objects...
  9. Re: Pasting images into Photoshop problem (MMF2 De

For me, I always use 65k-colour graphics mode, and it's always happened when I past into Photoshop CS2.
  10. Re: Pasting images into Photoshop problem (MMF2 Dev)

Yep, I have the same problem, with MMF2 but with Photoshop CS2. I usually apply an Offset filter to the image to set it right.

    Re: [Request]Rotate THEN Scale

Or maybe just an option to real-time skew would be useful, that'd be pretty cool, you could probably pull off Mode-7 style effects.

Re: Rotation in the picture editor.

Yeah you can't. It sucks because you could do that in MMF1 and it made lazy animating much easier, imagine how it'd be with MMF2's smooth re-sampling. Shame a lot of the image editor features had to...

    Re: Background

What I thought of is resizing a floor object. From the top, as it's reaching the middle of the screen it would shrink downwards, then as it's passed the middle it would start to grow again.

    Re: Background

Yeah I don't think the perspective object alone would work for that. You could make the floor an active object and scale it vertically depending on the position of it in relation to the screen, and...

    Re: platform movement object

For the movement events, couldn't you just add a negated event so the movement only happens when the player isn't crouched.
    For example,

Yeah, that's all it is. It would work the same no matter what the frame is centred on.

What about using the perspective object to fake it?

EDIT: I made a quick MMF2 example HERE. Scroll left and right with the mouse.

    Re: car reflection effect

That looks really nice, I never even thought of anything like that. Doesn't seem to slow my computer down any either. I might try messing around adding some more objects, see if it struggles at all.

Re: Scrolling erases pasted images :(

Instead of Paste Backdrop, use Add Backdrop. You'll find that the pasted objects now stay when you scroll.
  22. Re: What is a better way of making objects collide?

The Move Safely extension sounds exactly what you need. I'm not sure at all how to use it properly though, I'm sure someone will have to tell you how.

    Re: Fading layers

It would certainly be possible, I doubt it'd run with any decent speed though under the current MMF2 runtime. Layers can be slow as it is, as can be ink effects.

    Re: Weird Graphic Glitch

Yeah, I've been waiting for that fix also, it's quite an annoyance. Apart from that the rotation quality 1 looks smooth, it's just the artifacts spoil it. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard to fix?

Re: Possible Bug w/ Mode 7 object...

The Perspective object relies too much on 2D manipulation and neglects actual Z coordinates, I don't think it would produce the desired effect. Could we see an example file?

    Water reflection

I was messing about and experimenting and I came up with an example of how to make realtime reflective water. It would probably make a good screensaver with a little editing.
