    Dungeon Crawler - Open source example game on Clickstore

    For my second Firefly open source example project I wanted to make a "Ultima" style Dungeon crawling game. Dungeon Crawler is less then 180 lines and includes a ton of function and features to check out...



    Dungeon Crawler gives you everything you need to get started out of the box making your own Ultima / Legends of Grimrock styled RPG. Using the Firefly objects use this commented open source example to build upon and make your completely 3d dungeon experience. Out of the box features include map generation code and map design and editing layer. Keys and doors. Enemies using animated mesh model with various animations. Ultima style dungeon movement with camera control. Viewable map feature. Check out Author Notes below for detailed information!

    Good job sir. I get this error upon startup model/obj.01 missing. I ignore all and the crawler seems to work ok. What is this missing?

    I think its a relative path thing. The object knows in it's properties under "mesh file" to find the model in the model folder when using "models\01.obj" However Fusion at bootup goes where is it. Please ignore! The model is there so you should be good! Thanks for trying it out!

    LOL, both your hands are negative! "I think it doesn't work, on the other hand I think it sucks"

    I tested for several days, had a few other people play it. Spiders constantly died and stay dead. If anyone can duplicate non dying spiders any constructive feed back on what you did in those non dying moments would be appreciated. I should be posting a new MFA source soon.

    Sure, honesty...

    Just keep in mind, I worked on this in my spare time. I haven't done any real 3d game work other than the work on Firefly over the last five years. The fact I was able to build with little experience in 3d a dungeon crawler game in under 180 event lines, in as little as 20 hours of work, seem to escape everyone's mind. We don't have on tap endless 3d artists lining up to give us AAA assets to use in Firefly. It can do it though. Maybe if we can change the narrative from "I'll wait for this.." or "Too bad it sucks at X" We would be selling more of them, thus giving me the funds and authority to make those "this's and that's a reality.

    Zoncas if you are a experienced 3d developer PM me maybe we can use you to help build that AAA example.

    I never tire of games like these. Wizardry, Might & Magic, and yes the dungeon sections of Ultima are all childhood favorites.
