    Easiest Compatible 3d Modelling program?

    As the title says.

Never really dabbled in 3d stuff outside of some very basic drag and drop stuff years ago, so I'm just curious as to what the community thinks is the 'simplest' program to create 3D stuff for use in a Firefly enabled 3d fusion game. I'm not looking for AAA quality stuff - I'm happy with low poly prefab parts that I can just smash together if at all possible, but I'll take what I can get!

I should also mention that I am willing to pay zero dollars. That may complicate matters.

    Cheers guys!

    wings3D - it by far the easiest; exports 3ds; http://www.wings3d.com/ * doesn't animate
regarding texturing - unwrap3d is extremely good; but its not free http://unwrap3d.com/u3d/index.aspx (50 for 32b, 60 for 64b)

    animation; milkshape to b3d

Blender is free, but yeaaaah I would never call it a candidate for the "easiest" 3D modelling program in any context.

I haven't used it, but Wings3D does indeed look like it could be pretty good and easy-to-use, so that may be worth a look.

Blender would probably be your best bet for the animations if you don't want to spend money, though.

Much appreciated folks, will have a dabble and report back. Not so worried about animations at this stage as the project I'm working on is a tabletop wargame, so static models is perfectly OK (at least, initially. Animating it later on would definitely kick it up a notch, though).

    Cheers!

OH and re: blender - I've downloaded it and installed it and uninstalled it about 4 times over the years. I wish I had the patience to learn it tbh, but until now I've never had the need.

Then a little ol' thing like Firefly comes along...

    use this plugin - http://www.rtsoft.com/forums/showthr...oto=nextoldest
    export as .b3d

step 1; download file- extract the .py to file folder
    step2; start blender - CTR-ALT-U
step3; select addons | install from file

now you have added b3d exporting to Blender:
b3d is a really simple and easy file format - firefly like this format

I also added this as an attachment, in case that site disappears in the future
