String Object - how does the fonts work?

    Hi

I have a string object that displays certain text - like the level name and number - the occasional help message, that's all.

The font I chose is LetterOmatic.

On my pc it displays correctly. On every other pc I've tested the game on - it uses a different font and not that one.

I was under the impression that Fusion handled fonts automatically - that there wasn't anything more I had to do after choosing the font. Clearly not.

    Is this font an exception?

Are there settings I need to change? Does it pick up certain windows settings?

(Can't use the rich text object because it's not android compatible.)

    Thanks.

Fonts are not automatically packaged up with Fusion 2.5.

    You got two options:
    1) Install the font to the users machine with your installer
    2) Use the Font Embed extension to embed it within your application

As a followup to this - if you use a font that is native to windows, that will also solve the problem, yes?

(Of course, this doesn't apply if you are going cross platform to Android etc...)

Yes, if the Fusion runtime can't find the Font at runtime then it will revert back to the default windows font (I think it's Arial). If you use a standard Windows font then it will automatically find it, but never assume the user has the font installed.

    Thanks - that helps.

But the font embed extension is only for Windows - as is the installer.

So what do I do about Android?!

There is a font embedding extension for Android also called Font Packer.
