Getting Gibberish Characters Inside An Image Editor

You know all the weird characters and symbols you get if you try to load a binary file into a word processor? How do you get those so-called gibberish characters into software like Photoshop, or Paint.net as a text object? I'm not having any luck.

Open one of those files in a word processor, find some text you like, copy it and paste it into your image editor.

If you want to create it from scratch, you can use the Alt-codes (hold the ALT key and type the numbers of the character you want on the NUMERIC keypad, not the horizontal number keypad at the top of your keyboard) to create whatever string you'd like. Here's a handy reference.
