Embed Chrome browser into standalone application?

Has anyone tried embedding the Chrome browser into a standalone app, or using Chromium to embed an HTML5 app into a standalone app location?

you mean embedding a webpage in an EXE? You can do this with the Web View object, I don't see what this has to do with the HTML5 Exporter.

Web View relies on IE. I'm curious if Chrome or a chromium build can be built into an exe.

And sure, it's not directly related to HTML5 exporter. I just figured this board would have more people interested in such a thing

This is exactly the concept that my program, Macify, implements, except for Mac using Safari.

    http://Macify.ChristianWheel.com/

It's in beta now, coming to the ClickStore soon.

Did you make Macify using Fusion? Because I think ratty is looking for a Web View Object replacement that is based on Chromium.

Also, what exactly is the benefit of a converted Macify app vs a normal HTML5 app? Especially because the Mac Exporter makes native Mac apps, and native apps often have better performance than html5 apps.

No, Macify was not created in fusion. Now that the Mac Exporter was released, there's no benefit to a Macify app other than the cost vs. the Mac exporter (and perhaps extensions that are available for HTML5 that are not available for Mac). I began Macify about a year ago when we had already been waiting about 18 months for the release of the Mac exporter. Performance is definitely going to be better with the native Fusion runtime, but I will make a trial version available so you can test your game's performance before purchase.

But what's the benefit of Macify compared to running the HTML5 app in the browser?

It can be run without an internet connection, and is distributed as a Mac binary (can be signed, sold in the app store, etc).

Yeah, a web view object based on chromium it's exactly what I'm looking for! My my app relies on some Chrome components so other browsers won't work. Just looking for a way to build just as a standalone.
