Make each newly created objects colour a bit darker than the one before?

So I'm creating a line and each time I want it to be slightly darker than the last so I'm effectively making a gradient, how do you do this?

I made an example for you. Seems like using Active System Object is the easiest way to go about it.

Hey thanks for this, much appreciated, unfortunately I don't think this extension works on Android (which I should have mentioned is my target OS) are there any workarounds?

No worries, it should work on Android.
