How about just provide the .txt file with your game app, and then have like a keyboard button (Usually F1) which pops up teh text file?

Alternately looking through the extensions, There is an object called "Textfile Object". It has a condition to set text to whatever.

Why exactly do you want a .txt file saved to a players desktop?

You can do this with a regular edit box. You can make it hidden and read only if you don't want them to mess with it. In the events, set the text to whatever you want in your text file. Then you can use the save action to save the file to a location. Instead of bringing up the save dialog box, you can use an expression to figure out which save location path you want to use.

AppPath$ is a useful expression that retrieves the current location of the game, so you can save your text file in the same spot.

If you use the File object, you can retrieve different file paths on the user's computer. For example, the user's desktop would be UserDirectory$( "File" )+"\Desktop\"+"FileName.txt"
