Saving multiple Global Values in INI

    Hello everyone.

I'm having problems with making a save feature with my game. I can save counters using 'ITEM NAME'.
My issue is saving multiple "Global Values" with 'Set Value'

    My Example:

    ---START OF FRAME---
Change a Global Value 'G' (Right click INI) 'Get Value'
Change a Global Value 'H' (Right click INI) 'Get Value'

    ---END OF FRAME---
Set item value Global Value 'G'
Set item value Global Value 'H'

It seems like its setting all the global values to 0??? EDIT: It's using Global Value 'G' to set every Global Value

    Any help would be great.

Saving multiple Global Values in INI

Do you have any code that actually saves and loads the INI file? If you check the INI file, does it show the data being recorded successfully? Try changing the end of frame condition to a button press to test to see if it's working, maybe that condition isn't triggering properly.

I'm assuming since all the global values are 0, the data isn't being saved or recorded correctly.

You said you're setting the item values, but did you set a group name?

Yes, all my counters save great but if I tell the INI to save global value G & H it only saved H, I had this same problem with my counters until I told INI to save items.

You cannot save Global Values as items so I think they are conflicting somehow.

Saving multiple Global Values in INI

Instead of posting a video, check your code in the List Editor view. It should have a button for it right next to the event editor button. It will show all of your conditions and actions in a list so it's easier to read.

Take a screenshot of that list view.

If you look at the picture you posted, you can see the order that the events occur in. I believe you need to bring the "set current group" action above all your "set value item" actions. Therefore the INI file knows which group to put the items in before it starts creating the items. Also are all your item names the same? That could get confusing when trying to retrieve the data from the INI file.

Thanks for your help mate and your time. I'm going to change the way my engine works to fix this issue. Maybe a long winded process but I know it will fix this issue.

For anyone making a save feature for their game hear me out.

Never use Global Values for Gun Types, Difficulty, Gun Levels, ect... Just use counters which are global.

I use only global values actually and never had any problems with it. I save everything with a fastloop though so i don't manually add every single item etc.
