    different TXT format file (from MM2F and MMF2.5)

    Hi all,
    I bought recently MMF2.5 and I have a problem:

    With MMF2 I did a simple application that write a .txt file. (I use "file" and "ini" object to do this).
    This .txt file will be read by an external application (so this file include some information used in this external application, not MMF created).

    So the problem is:
    - My project in MMF2 write a file with 2 Kb, and external application can read this file;
    - My project in MMF2.5 write the same file with 4 Kb, and external application can't read this file;

    If I open the files in windows using notepad, all is ok, the files appear the same, but why there are two different file dimensions ?
    there are different format? For example Ascii or UF8T ??
    Probably my external application can not read one of this format....

    how can I solve this? there are other objeact can I use to write a txt file?

    Have you tried to go to Application Properties and then Runtime Options and change the character encoding options output from Unicode to something else, e.g ANSI or UTF-8?

    yes.. i already discovered this option thath in MMF2 does not exist.
    I create new app that load 4 Kb file and write other new. This new file work correctly (I set ANSI read/write). The new file is 2 Kb and the external app read this file.
    I set the same read/write option to ANSI in my app but the file created is 4 Kb... probably a compatibilty problem ?? probably i need to "rewrite" all the application in MMF2.5

    So, you create the .txt file with the File object?
    And when you create the .txt with the INI object?

    1) the application create this .txt file with "file object":

    Code:
    [GAME]
    {
    	HostIP=xxx;
    	HostPort=xxx;
    	IsHost=xxx;
    	MyPlayerName=xxx;

    	ModHash=xxx;
    	MapHash=xxx;
    	Mapname=xxx;
    	GameType=xxx;

    	startpostype=xxx;
    [...]
    (the file is longer than this list, depending by some option settend in the application),

    2) the application use INI object to edit value/string of items in the file ...

    Perhaps using those other objects will result in the output file you need

    so I verified that the "file object" from MMF2.0 doesn't respect output format selected in the "runtime option" tab. Y can use ANSI, UTF-8 etc, nothing change.
    the file object in new application made with MMF2.5 is ok.. but It is unthinkable to rework all the work

    Fortunately you are right, i tested a little Rich Edit in my application and probably I solved my problem, now i need to modify only minimal part of my work. Thank you!!
