    Text getting weirdly cut off in String object

    So I just released a new game on Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/619870/Omegaland/) and a user is reporting a weird issue that none of my testers encountered.

    The game's using Direct3D 9, and the text is displayed using a standard String object. I know there used to be a word-wrapping issue, but I thought it was fixed, and in any case I remember it wrapping badly, not doing... this.

    Help would be greatly appreciated, since if one user has this problem, no doubt others will have it too.

    Do they have their system text size set to anything above 100%?

    A good question! Will ask.

    They did mention that they initially had a resolution of 2560x1440, but then set it down to see if that helped. Maybe someone using such a high resolution has a higher system text size set. I had a problem like that once with a game, although that was more than a decade ago (and using Visual Basic, heh).

    Using the Active System Object for text display might alleviate some the issue

    Found it! Player was using a replacement font renderer (gdipp), which messed up the String object. Good to know this can happen.

    (Thanks for the suggestion about text size, that's what led to the solution.)
