Two fast(ish) questions.
I have been playing about with both Web View object and also Direct Show to display videos.
I have found out a few interesting things... like for example, if you use gmail-drive to host a video, and you then use Web View to load it, it will pass the control to your default video player (EG: Windows media player).
But if you use Direct Show then it pauses for quite a while and then plays in within the app.
All interesting stuff (for me at least!)
However I have 2 questions that I need answering:
1. If I use Web View object to link to a video on You Tube, it shows the whole page and not just the video....but if I try with a link from Vimeo, it does not work at all.
Can Web View show other streaming content from other places apart from You Tube?
2. Because I think streaming a video is not good enough (because of all the garbage from the page being shown as well) I think it could be better to download and then save the video to a file and then play it, and then when the app closes to delete the file.
BUT I cannot seem to find any object that will download a file andsave it to the HD.
So is there any other command or object etc that I can use to download a video file and save it?
Perhaps there is a way to hide all the garbage from You Tube and only show the video...tho I cant find any. And maybe Web View can use other sites for streaming...tho I cant get it to work.
So.... any help would be appreciated folks!
