Question Active Object Effects Events Not Working

    Hello and thanks for reading!

I'm working on a new program that functions similar to a level editor. Currently, I am trying to add an Editing feature, where the user can select blocks they have placed and manipulate them. However, my problems is that sometimes, the effect-related Events just don't seem to want to activate when called.

    In my case:
-When the user selects a block in Edit Mode (CreateMode = 2), the block should have the Simple Mask effect and turn completely green. It doesn't.
-When the user clicks the Horizontal Flip Button (editorButton1), the selected block should have the Horizontal Flip effect applied. It doesn't.
-Same as above, but for Vertical Flip. It works???

Am I missing something obvious or is there something else going on here?

    Thanks

SOLUTION: Yes, I was missing something obvious

If anyone else happens to have this problem, make sure you scan through each line of code to make sure it's doing what you think it's doing. In my example, I was toggling the Flag selectedBlock, which worked, but the effect didn't. The reason for this: the other flags of the same object isFlippedX and isFlippedY were still off. When they are off, they set the effect to None. This would also explain why the only button that worked was Flip Y.

    See you around!
