I'm aiming to create a top-down view RPG styled game, when my player collides with a backdrop they push inside of the back-drop slightly and completely restrict player control.

The player gets stuck inside of the backdrop and cannot move.

I have tried using active objects, however those are even more uncooperative in ways I just can't understand.

Active (larger object):
Collision between "Player object" and "wall"
> "Player object" stops

Backdrop (Smaller object):
Collision between "Player object" and backdrop
> "Player object" stops

I'm using 8 directional PHYSICS movement.
Anyone got any solutions?
