Any way to easily implement slow motion?

Hey, I have a basic movement system that I like put in place but I wanted a way to add slow motion to the game to use while performing certain actions. I've heard from people that I should be using delta time and I have a very basic understanding of what that is but i'm not sure how to implement it or how i'd achieve slow motion with it. I've attached my file so if anyone could look and suggest an implementation of slow mo it would be greatly appreciated.

number of ways to do it, but it depends all on your movement system. for example, if you were using speed for movement then just alter the speed of the object; if your are stepping co ords; then you must make a timer; and then trigger it on a normal time or a slow time.
another way, is to have an invis marker which will use speed but slowly; and then deactivate the objects movement, and position it to the slow moving marker until its time to resume normal movement.
    some food for thought

Create 3 global variables; DeltaTime, LastTime, and TimeScale

    Always
-Set DeltaTime to (timer - "LastTime") * TimeScale
    -Set "LastTime" to timer

Now whenever your objects move multiply their movements by DeltaTime. This will make your movements framerate independent and allow you to control the time/speed of your game by adjusting the TimeScale variable.

hey @aenever , sorry for the late reply. I normally will come onto the forums for a little bit, help some people out, and disappear for a while. Here is the example file you asked for if you need it:
