Strange get object response with Windows 7

    Hello everyone.

Everything works perfectly with the get object in my Windows 10 PC. I can get the received content without any problem but the same exe returns get time out in windows 7 machines. I have good internet connection on both PCs. any ideas?

    1. Are you running on the same network using the same router to access the internet?

    2. Are you running the same firewall or anti-virus software on both systems?

    3. Are using the same internet service provider in both cases.

    4. Run a trace route command to see where you are being blocked.

    5. Certain security software running on routers can block certain machines from downloading. Ex. In a school.

    To run trace route:

    1. Open a command prompt windows.

    2. Write down the host name and ip address

    3. Type in: tracert <host name or ip address here>

Ex. tracert www.clickteam.com or tracert 198.74.58.211

Run this on the machine that works and on one that does not work.
Compare results … make sure both machines are on the same network.

    win 7 trace.jpg

    2. Windows 10 trace

I have attached sample mfa you can test on your Win 7 and 10 machines and see what I mean.

Well both machines see the host fine so that's not the issue. I tested on Windows 10 and your .mfa works. I assume you can bring up a web browser on both machines and see the webpage? What web browser and version is being used on the Windows 7 system that does not work?

It could be malware in the Windows 7 that is redirecting your http get request. The trace you did says the Windows 7 machine does see the host at a low level.

Change the webpage to another site like google or something in the program and see if you get the same results on the windows 10 and windows 7.

Could not edit my last post so I had to create this one.

I tested your app on Windows 10 and Windows 7. Works fine on both as a .exe file.

I would suggest starting with a clean install of Windows 7 and try that on your network.

What is the size of your .exe file? I get 2433 KB.

I have tested your file on my Windows 7 computer and it worked fine.
Tested on R291.2 beta update for Fusion 2.5.

I don't have Avast installed. I have Eset NOD32 Antivirus installed.

I would suggest checking the file size of your .exe file. If it is larger "malware on your computer" could be attaching to your .exe file causing the problem.

Since you can run the software on your system, try using a clean Windows 7 machine with a fresh install of Windows 7.

    - i can see webpages on both pcs using chrome, ie and firefox
    - what does it mean when the machine sees a host at low level
    - when i change to other sites it works fine on both machines but when i change url to any site i have in my shared hosting account it doesn't work on windows 7 but works fine on windows 10. Could my hosting have any issue serving http requests? this is getting weirder
