New to Firefly - Starting Points for 3D Beat 'Em Up?

    Hello there,

I'm a 3D animator and "mathematically impaired", some limited experience of TGF and MMF here and there
I'm probably a novice-intermediate at the basics of CTF -

Anyway, I've just purchased Clickteam Fusion 2.5 and Firefly with the hope of eventually building a 3D beat 'em up,
something similar to Fighting Force on PS1 or Sega's SPIKEOUT.

I'm familiar with how hit-boxes and collisions work from the 2D side of things, and understand than in 3D the principles are the same but in 3 dimensions -

So in my game I would like to be able to do things like detect when the player punches or kicks, where on the enemy their hits land (3D models) for example, torso/head/legs - it should be do-able right?
Has anyone attempted something similar, and any advice or samples? :P

I've been going over the basic tutorials to familiarize myself with the basic components of Firefly.

Thank you so much for creating this great software!

    Best,
    Macro

    greets,

all is do-able im sure - although not a fighting game you could use something similar to the technique used in

Thanks for your reply, I'm hoping to use proper animated skinned meshes with the hitboxes following the movements of the limbs etc. Although that looks like an ok starting point I guess.

    I'll hit up the discord

This is driving me nuts :v ...I've been trying to figure out how to parent/position a cube to use as a hitbox 1:1 with an individual bone all afternoon ~_~
but I can't seem to get it.

Has anyone attempted this? It would be useful for things like calculating head or limb shots in 3D shooter etc as well...

I half thought about splitting the model itself up into separate parts that get parented together... but that tends to look really ugly in terms of normal smoothing. I'd rather avoid that if possible.
