What's the best way to have a counter reset back to a value I want?

I have my events set up to have the counter be 3 at start of frame. When an object reappears, every one second, it subtracts 1 from the counter. When it's <=0 the object turns invisible again. How can I have it reset back to 3?

You could literally have a condition in the same line as setting object to invisible, set counter to 3. As long as you put the condition after the action of making the object invisible it should work.

Try using alterable values of the object as the counter, and use behaviours instead of frame events

It's set to be invisible when the counter is <=0, I tried to have it set the counter back to 3 when it's at that value, but it just made the object disappear for a millisecond and reappear. What else should I try?
