Qualifier event not working as intended, why?

I have five buttons (each a seperate Active object with buttons qualifier) and using keyboardkey 1 should select button 1 (by having flag 0 set to on) while deactivating the others (flag 0 off).

    Upon pressing "1"
    - Group.Buttons: Set flag 0 off
    - Active Object "button 1": Set flag 0 on

The qualifier works, all buttons flag 0 is set to off, but the button 1 event seems to be ignored. Why doesn't this work ? Any limitations or bugs with qualifiers that I should be aware of?

This method not using qualifier works fine:

    Upon pressing "1"
    - Active Object "button 2": Set flag 0 off
    - Active Object "button 3": Set flag 0 off
    - Active Object "button 4": Set flag 0 off
    - Active Object "button 5": Set flag 0 off
    - Active Object "button 1": Set flag 0 on

But I really want to use qualifier for these events as I will have up to 15 buttons in my game with more added when needed and having to set all the buttons to off will become tedious and make the code look messy.

You'd probably have to use two events, like this:

    Upon pressing "1"
    - Group.Buttons: Set flag 0 off

    Upon pressing "1"
    - Active Object "button 1": Set flag 0 on

I wish I knew why it won't work though as it doesn't make any sense.

I don't know why either, it's just the way object scoping works.

Qualifiers override individual objects when altered in the same event-block disrespecting the execution order. This is probably due to how qualifiers where implemented in Fusion long time ago. I would consider this behavior a bug tho... just found out about it two weeks ago after years of using the software o_o

Yes, I've been using clickteams stuff since K&P days (man, thats like...20 years!) and it's very frustrating when things you just don't understand pop up.

I appreciate you guys confirming that it's "intended" (bugged) though. Would be cool if this was fixed but I guess I'll have to work around it for now.
