How would I go about making a functioning options menuÉ

Hello everyone. For my game, I am working on making an options menu. For example, I would include the option to turn an aiming reticle off or on for my game. I would also like some options to do things like display framerate, etc. However, I'm having a hard time setting this up. I'm also unsure how I would make that an option in itself. I think I would need to use a global variable?

    Please leave some help. Thanks

My way is having an active object that's a global object and using its alt values/flags to keep settings.

    E.g.
click button to hide reticle -> set alt value a to 1.

then in game events if alt value a is 1 hude reticle

This is something you should do later on in your game when it's further along tho, no point in doing an options screen before you have a game.

Thanks for the reply. Note that I do have the game and a few of its level as well as the first "boss". The game is pretty far off lol, I'm just wondering how I can incorporate small things like this. I will try your method
