    Fusion 2.5+ DLC Official pre and post-launch Thread



    Fusion 2.5+ is almost here with a ton of new features and functions to make Fusion even more powerful! Features like...

    • Child Events (Aka Nested Events)
    • Faster loading and saving,
    • An improved global event editor,
    • A global Find All function to find any text in the entire application,
    • A faster Windows runtime with optimized memory use and a DirectX 11 mode,
    • An event profiler to find the bottlenecks in your events,
    • A new output window in the debugger
    • and a lot more!

    We will be releasing this as brand new paid DLC for both Standard and Developer on Standalone and Steam flavors. We anticipate release sometime between mid February and end of March.     So excited for this! Every new feature has been highly requested!

    Child events goes without saying, that will be massive. "Global Find All" will really help me as my project is getting hard to navigate in the event editor. Faster runtime+Direct X11 is always great! I'm hoping the debugger improvements means it also runs faster.. my project drops to like 5 frames per second if I open the debugger.

    Also excited about the "and a lot more!"

    Is it possible to implement real-time shader updates/load shader at runtime and from file or string as I’ve been working on a visual shader editor for fusion 2.5 and need this feature. For the meantime I’ll be able to get it working with firefly

    Very nice! Eager to dig into this once it’s releases. Faster Windows runtime may be just what I need for man issue my application has been having. Will that improve the Standard runtime?

    Although I am not a steam user. The last thing I bought was the CD for Fusion 2.5. I guess we'll see in due time.

    Copying and pasting some stuff from the other thread lol.

    How is the global event editor improved? Are you now able to reference groups inside of it?

    What is the benefit of direct x 11 mode? Surely not significant? Isn't 9 often slower than 8? Shouldn't we expect even more of a potential performance decrease for DX11? Is the main benefit in the realm of shaders?

    Yes you are now able to use qualifiers (groups) in Global Events
