    Having a problem playing samples...

I've got a problem with placing some background music into my game. I've got it set up so that a sample plays on channel 1 so that I can place sound effects and such on other channels. I haven't added any other samples to any other channels yet because I'm trying to troubleshoot what's going on.

If I simply tell the application to start playing a sample it does so. However, when I tell it to start playing on a specific channel it's mute until the user has clicked on any button in the option menu (file, options, help) and it stops the moment the user returns to the application. I have "Play sounds over frames" checked, but it isn't fixing the problem. Am I overlooking something really simple?

maybe you have multi samples turned off? check your game properties! I read your post too quickly (lack of time, hee, hee) so I could be wrong in what I am asuming. Best of luck tho!

The .mfa file is too large to upload, unfortunately. Maybe I'll make a copy try to cut it down to the appropriate size. Yes, the application is set to play multiple samples.

Are you using wav, mp3, or ogg formats? Try using a different format. Try not having it on a channel and allow multi samples. Try having your music play and loop as a Sample instead of music. Maybe try having it start playing after x amount of time like a second or so. Or at the start of the level.

Sometimes even re-sampling and saving sound file in a program like Audacity fixes issues when files wont play.
