    How to make 2D games look better by adding realism with a drop shadow like in ManMin

    I have recently created an article for implementing a realistic shadow like in Maniakos Mineras (ManMin) and presenting some information regarding shadows in general.

    Here is the new APK with various changes.

    -Changes in the intro
    -Map draft level (double tap to go to next level)
    -If placed at the entrance, you can restart the level
    -If placed at the exit, you can pass to the next level
    -Improved sound effects

    Thank you @aenever , I haven't commented it at all though, sorry for this.

    Also it is WIP so forgive some bugs you may find.

    In any case, I would be greatful if you could give me some feedback and suggestions.

    It's great, the fog of war effect works nicely. My only suggestion is that I'd remove the 8 direction, considering the character animations are only 4 direction. Other than that, it's got a great atmosphere.

    Hmm you have a point there @aenever !

    The problem is that I am supposed to be trying to make the game with as close as possible to the standard functionality of Fusion 2.5. I am, supposingly, trying to prove that you can make a game that looks and feels decent.
    The standard android controls don't work good with 4 directions. When you are facing a diagonal direction the player will stop moving. This means that I would have to create my own player control functionality which then means I will lose my goal.

    But yes, it is a good point. I struggled a lot to decide to do this. And mentioning it, you have made me wander again if I have done right.

    I think that the atmosphere got much better with the fog too but I feel something is missing... I have to find something more to improve it and I am not sure what...
