Anyone has experience in making 2.5d engines in Fusion?

Like in beatem-ups with the ability to jump over stuff. I really want to make game that's somewhat like River City Ransom but don't know where to start with the engine part.

If you want depth on the characters you need to scale them, smaller when you move up and larger when you move down. Jumping. When you jump, make sure to have a value that increases when you play the jump animation and decreases when you fall down. Set a height value for objects you can jump over and when your jump value is equal or higher to the objects height value you can jump over it. If lower you will stop. Maybe this will get you some ideas to play around with :-)

Z depth is simply the y height of your character's hotspot, so you could compare the y distance between two characters as part of the collision criteria. For projectiles the y height of the character launching would need to be saved as a value. To jump over objects you'd need a similar value on launch to see if you're going over/behind/ or colliding.

I helped a user ages ago with this example - I think it might be his GFX so obviously you wouldn't be entitled to use those, but this is the basics to get you started.
