I'm just getting into implementing a joypad into my game and I get some weird result the first thing that happens. I have tried this for both the Joypad object and the Joystick 2 object with the same result. I use a ps4 controller and run on win10.
I'm working on a game with controls like Super Smash Tv, right now walking with the arrows and aiming with w-a-s-d.
I have an event that states that if button "D" is held down, player will change direction the the right, and a marker/aim will have its position set to Y(player), X(player)+30, (in front of player).
This works fine when I use the keyboard for controls but when I try and replace "D" with "Direction of joypad 1 is 0" (right) the player looks right, but the marker/aim does not change its position! I have never had an event work halfway when I change its conditions. Is there some know how regarding the use of joypads that one ought to know?
Any help appreciated!
