Will writing to MMFapplications in appdata cause issues later on?

I am working on a small program to get me back in to Fusion before I continue with my old, big project.

As suggested in various threads here I am using the file object and the ini object to store stats from the app. I have tried to make it write the ini file in a directory of my choice and creation but it insists on writing to the folder MMFapplications. The app do create "my folder" but not the ini file.

Before you all suggest I use ini++. The reason I don't is because I have the "simple ini" in my big game and there is no way I will change to ini++ and re-program billions of lines to make it work.

So, question is: will the writing and reading to/from the folder 'MMFapplications' cause any issues later on? The big game will be published through Steam.

As long as the name of the INI file you use is unique it shouldn't be an issue. From what I recall Five Nights at Freddie's uses the default MMFApplications folder for save data too.

The only time it *could* be an issue is in the very rare instance that another Fusion game on that machine
    - uses an INI file with the exact same name, AND
    - overwrites a variable stored in that INI file with the same name

Thank you marbenx, just what I wanted to hear.

Was finally able to create my own directory in appdata *and* have the ini-file created in said folder. Sigh.... it was "the user error" as usual.

Could you explain how you did this?

Turned out there is no problem creating the folder but to have Fusion use it and look in it is another matter. Am starting a new thread with example app added.
