Webview2 asks for Location Permission (GPS)

Strange things happen lately with Webview 2.

I am using Fusion R292.14 (developer) and every time i use Webview2 in a project it asks for location permision.
Even a blank project with no events and just the webview does that.

(all location permisions are unchecked in the projects properties)
Webview2 is v 2.1 with Webview2.dat date 29/08/2019

Any ideas/fixes or something?

another thing that is not working with webview is follow the frame but that's another story.

It's just one frame with a webview. nothing else.

sorry i missunderstood webview does require of these permissions to make webview able to use geolocation inside it.

they are added, but not asked since you are not using it.

it is only asked when user require a geolocation.

not easy to cover all angles

So it asks for a permission "just in case" it needs it..
Whouldn't it be wiser to just put an option in webviews properties for it? Something like "Enable geolocation? -> Yes/No" or something.

Because some users might not even install an app that asks for it.
I am making an rss reader for a friends blog and almost all betatesters asked "why is there a geolocation permission". Not a big issue since the user can deny it and the app still works but it doesn't "look good" on the play store.

So you see the permission dialog where the user has to accept or deny the permission? I don't see why, as you don't use this feature. Unless you use Android 5 or 4.

Only old versions of Android (4.x or 5.x IIRC) will prompt for the permission at start even if you don't use it. Other versions ask the user only if the feature is used. For example on my Android 7 device, with the example you posted above I don't get any permission dialog box.

I use an older device to test my apps (android 5) and on installation i get the following screen:

Yes, on Android 5 you see this.

Android 6 or above = 75% of current Android devices, Android 5 = 15% and I guess it's decreasing.

But yes anyway I agree, an option that you can unselect in the properties of this object could avoid this.
