    problems with joystick control

So I've got all the movements and animations working with joystick controls except for the attack, i have put in if pressed fire 2 - play attack animation but it doesn't play, i assume there could be more to this that needs to be done to get it to work but im still kinda newbie, any help would be appreciated

What happens if you add this condition alongside the one I've quoted?

And what happens if you place that event at the very bottom of the events?

Did you choose to push the button or did you choose if the button is repeatedly pressed down? If the latter it will not play because it will just be set to the first frame of the animation over and over again I think

Try setting an Attack flag on the character when you press the button instead, and when the Flag is on, play the animation. When the animation is finished, turn the flag off.

Its a bit of a guessing game without seeing the MFA

My guess would be check the direction of the attack animation that your frames are under. Is the same direction set on your attack button push event? . Also set loop if the attack animation is meant to repeat. If none of the suggestions help you could post an MFA and im sure some one will fix it for you.

Under Line 25, you've got it so that if the player isn't pressing any buttons and they aren't jumping/falling, it sets their animation to "stopped"

Since this happens every single frame while they player isn't moving, it overrides their attack animation.

There's a couple ways to fix this:
    - You can add "only one action when event loops" to this event, so that it only triggers once, OR
    - You can set it to only activate when the attack animations aren't playing

Keep in mind if the player is moving (either walking or sprinting) this will also overwrite the currently playing attack animation, so you might want to do something for those events too, depending on how you want the game to work
