Why should i have to change the type of array in properties just to get a (simple) value array to work?

because one is a string array and one is numbers.

So if it's a string, you can enter a number but it won't be treated as a number. but as text. You could attempt to add cells together but the math wouldn't work because you'd be adding text not numbers.

But if you want to use a string array and still perform calculations, you can simply convert the cell data from a string to a number eg set an objects value from the array to Val(StrAtXY( "array", 23, 13 ))
