Sinewave movement of an object on a layer with co-efficient?

I'm trying to make an object move up and down using sin, and usually I'd set it's initial position and as alt value, Always set position to this alt value and move it with sin, but the layer coefficient is causing it to be positioned incorrectly. What's the correct way of storing and and setting an objects position using an alt value when it's on a layer with a coefficient?

EDIT: I need to mention my co-efficient is 0, so multiplying the position by it won't work unfortunately.

If the layer's coefficient is 0 then that means it always stays on the screen if it has no movement right? Effectively the same thing as unchecking "Follow the frame"?

If so, you could maybe set it's X/Y coords using sin normally on a layer with the normal 1.0/1.0 coefficient, but then offset it by adding it to X right/left frame or Y top/bottom frame
