Exclamation Problem opening a ".mfa" (requires the unicode version of an extension)

    Hi guys!

I'm having problems opening some ".mfa" files, I get a message that says I need the unicode version of the extension, (in this case "StringTokenizer.mfx") and the file doesn't open.

I tried downloading the extension again and also copying it to the "unicode" folder but it didn't work.

Has it happened to anyone else?

@Yves i can't open any of my mfa files

i'm getting same unicode error but complaining about my gamecenter extension.

i reinstalled patch, plus tried old versions of fusion right back to build 291.6 but it still says the same error.

any ideas how to fix this???

as it has completely paralyzed my game development

I haven't found a fix. This only happens with downloaded .mfa files, not with my own projects.

What do you mean by "downloading"? Where did you download it from? Re-install it from the extension manager, this will install the Unicode version. Do not install some random version from the Internet when it can be installed from the extension manager.

Weird, not sure sure why it would do this with the GameCenter extensions. Which one? as there are 5 GameCenter extensions.

If you've installed CF 2.5 over an old version of MMF 2.0, try removing the GameCenterxxxxx.mfx files from the Extensions folder, just keep the ones in Extensions\Unicode.

Hmm, just thinking about it, if the MFX file of the extension that is causing the message is not in the Extensions\Unicode folder, verify your anti-virus program didn't remove it.

i installed CF2.5 and 2.5+ fresh on a new computer just a few days ago, didnt use MMF2.0

there are no duplicate files in the extensions folder, they are only in the unicode folder & my antivirus has not blocked them.

    problem file is GameCenterAchievements.mfx

The modified date of your MFX's is a bit old. Did you install the latest update patch after installing everything? (as soon as you install an exporter or DLC you need to install the update patch - unless the build number in the exporter/DLC installer name is the same as the build you're using)
