    Variable Background Gradient for Mobile

Is it possible to have a background gradient (like with the Quick Background object) where you can vary the colours so the background changes over time? In particular, it needs to be not too performance heavy on iOS and Android devices.

Looks like I can achieve the result I am looking for using the Counter object with a gradient. Is there a more purpose built solution? And if not, will stretching a Counter object to fill the screen have a big hit on performance? Sorry, I would try and check this out myself but I'm not in a position to test on devices at the moment.

Does anybody know anything about the widget in this thread? The link is dead but it sounds like what I'm after. I'd PM Gustav but he doesn't seem to allow messages.
