    Shader that only draws a certain amount of pixels from the left?

    I've found always updating X scale for enemy healthbars is really slow, so I'm wondering if there's already a shader to only draw a portion of the object (a certain number of pixel columns) based on a variable. If not, is there a starting point for learning how to make shaders?

    A shader with functionality similar to "9 slice" would also be really handy.

    Mr. Podunkian helped me out and wrote a simple shader doing exactly what I was looking for. I figured I should upload the shader in case anyone else wants efficient healthbars etc:
