    Question Each Enemy reacts independently

    I'm starting a project and want to know how to make duplicates of the same active react independent to each other. Right now they have a sight box to the left and a sight box to the right however when I am in a single enemies right sight box for example they will all go right (Its a platformer). I think I have done it before but forgot how to do it.

    Toggle a flag - if the enemy's flag 0 is on - move right, if flag 0 is off move left - something like that.

    i tried that but it didnt work the sight boxes are now on the player btw. when the enemy overlapped the player sight box it would toggle a flag which would control movement. do i give each enemy a different flag because i used the same?

    I'm not sure I understand what you're asking.

    I've made an example - frame 1 just sets the direction based on the collision - frame 2 uses flags.

    If this isn't what you're asking you'll have to make an example to illustrate (or wait for someone else who might understand to help you.)

    problem.mfa my problem is that when you are in between 2 they stop because they are trying to go left and right at the same time also both will move if only one is in one of the vison boxes. i don't understand how to do ids which is what i think i need to do

    Well you're trying to move your enemies using the platform movement object which I don't think will work - but I know very little about the platform movement object.

    If you use a different movement for your enemies like the bouncing ball movement, then you can use the examples I gave you or I've modified your example to show you as well.

    Maybe there is a smarter way to do it but using the platform movement object the only solution I found was to deal with IDs and loops.
    problem_solved.mfa
    I create dynamicaly a PMO for each enemy (uncheck "Create at start" in the options of the PMO) and loop on each one to reach the result.

    Janette5's solution is much easier with inbuilt movements.

    Maybe this will Help. No it is not enemies but it is the same object numerous times doing different things. Basically, I could duplicate this car 1,000 times and each car will react differently.

    I assume you want the same Object Enemy to look at the target, regardless if they are on the left or right / up or down. Use the line of site technique and make the enemies LOOK AT for direction when they overlap the Line of Site. They will only look at the enemy and not try to look left and right at the same time.



    Anyway, here is a quick little Example. The Red MMF Icons are the enemies and the Typical icon is the player. Use your Arrow keys to move around. You will see the effect if you are within sight distance.
