Need help Moving a level onto screen with out using the player to move it

Hi, I am building a spaceship game very similar to the type that used to show up on 16 bit consoles(Gradius, thunder force, R-type), I have the movement, basic shooting, enemy, background and such sort of figured out.

But since I want it to be a designed level with no random elements I need to find a way that the viewable part of the frame moves to the right the whole time if that makes sense, revealing the level/enemies that are all ready drawn or waiting to be activated, the player should not dictate the x position of the screen at all. I tried using an active object that constantly moves to the right but if I try to attach my ships x corroborate to that then my controls(8 way Movement type) wont work and I dont get the desired effect either.

So any suggestions on how I can sort of have the my level scroll onto the play area from right to the left? The level is made up of backdrop objects. I have attached the file as reference. Thanks.

You're on the right track, what you need to do is always center the display from the red active that moves to the right. Center Display can be found in the story board controls. It will mess up your nice gradient effect though as quick backdrops can't follow the frame. If you make your gradient an active it should work. The GUI and lives will also need to be set to follow the frame.

PS I changed the amount of colors so that I could upload it (if you want it at 16 million - just copy over the changes)
