restoring original colors of an active?

i am swapping colors of an active for alternate character colors, and since similar colors are used in some of the schemes, colors act up if i restore back to some of the schemes. i want to just have to object reset the colors, but i dont know if there's a way to do that. is there also a way to just replace colors of a single active of its kind? a few players share the same active object, and i only want the color replacements to apply to one.

You can load frames from external files and overwrite the current ones, but there's no specific restore way if you merge two colours.

yeah... your only current solution (that I know of) is to careful track of the RGB values of all changed colors and make sure you NEVER change one color into another USED color. Make sure they are at least 1 number diferent in the red, green, or blue value... this will look identical to the human eye, but be diferent enough so that you can alwats keep your coolors seperate.

but then theres no simple feature to return to default, you need to make a loop that changes all the collors from their current values to their original RGB's. Its not complicated, but it IS a lot of work.

and is there a way to only replace colors on a single active of a certain kind or does it have to replace the colors on all of them in the frame?

I should mention if your game is only intended for play on PC's and you're not opposed to using HWA, then you could possibly use shader effects to get the sort of color manipulation that you need. Its a totoally diferent aproach though, and would limit your game to PC export.
