Question Porting a extension from MMF1.5 to CTF2.5?

Okay so let me explain a little...
I recently found the source code to Mode 7ex and I have been dying to port it to CTF2.5 (Yes, I know it does work for CTF2.5 as is but I want to improve it for performance reasons)

    So I have two problems...

The first one is the Visual Studios Project file is either so old or corrupted that it fails to migrate, so that kinda losses both ease and any property settings that may have been needed.

Second of all, the code is decently big (For me anyway) and I'm not exactly sure where to start. Plus, I'm not sure what parts of the runtime should/will need to be changed. If anyone could help that would be great, thanks

VS2017 can convert the project file, I attach it, in case this may help.

If you want to build it with the SDK of Fusion 2.5, just copy the Mod7ex folder to the Extensions folder of the SDK, open the project and make sure the C++ and Linker Input directories point to the directories of the 2.5 SDK (done in the project file attached to this message). You'll also need to remove a #include "ver.h" from the resource file.

If you want you can also convert it to Unicode (there is a UnicodeSDK.txt file that explains how to convert old exts to Unicode), though it depends on what you want to do and maybe not worth the effort.

BTW about the performance, the problem with this object is that it was made for the Standard graphic mode, it's very slow in Direct3D mode and I don't think you can fix it.
