Build 292.28 - Beta version

Hello,

The build 292.28 is available in the Product Owners Lounge or in the Community Passport if you own the stand-alone version (and on Steam if you've activated beta tests).

This is a beta but almost a release version. The main change was done to remove the false positives recently detected by some anti-virus programs, again, as they apparently fail fixing it for all apps. We also removed the "compress the runtime" option that was no longer used by anyone and was just useless (+ this also allows to avoid other false positives).

In case of problem you can reinstall any other version (no need to uninstall first, just reinstall the patch of the build you want to reinstall).

PS: the CF 2.5 patch updates all the installed exporters, as well as the 2.5+ DLC, you do not need to reinstall them.

Done, if you had already downloaded it and need non-English language support please re-download and re-install the patch.

When I click on the download beta developer it just stays on the page.

If you have Chrome like I do then it has apparently decided to block downloads from here. However if you right-click the link and pick "Save link as..." You will see a download at the bottom of the window trying to start then be immediately blocked. If you click on it and pick "Keep" you will bypass this and the download will begin.

When installing I got a virus warning and an item was removed - this has not happened before, when installing.

But the good news is - now when I create a .exe it is not immediately removed - and if I run a virus scan on it - it's clean.

I did restore the inchrt.exe from quarantine - and that action including the file will automatically be submitted to Norton.

Hmm, lnchrt.exe is not installed by this patch, the patch deletes it (as it was part of the "compress runtime" option that was removed). Maybe Norton analyzed it when the program deleted it. Anyway you can safely ignore this error, don't restore the file from the quarantine it's not used anymore.

Windows 10 Defender still says even my blank apps have Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.C!ml upon scanning them. Windows 7 Defender doesn't detect anything(however it never does for actual viruses either, no idea what's up with it).

Still not winning.

I manually deleted Inchrt.exe since I'd already restored it and deleted my ignore list in Norton. Reinstalled 292.28, didn't have any installation issues.

But then Norton removed these 2 files:

Built an app with the date and time in it as it was one of the extensions people had posted in the forums as triggering Bitdefender.

Application built - but trying to run it - it was removed with this message:
