    Making a Mini Golf Game

    Hello!

It is my first time here and a beginner.

I am making a top-down mini-golf game and I'm already stuck at the ball movement. Originally I wanted to make it a pull and shoot type of physics (like the slingshot in angry birds) but it starts to conflict with the other objects I want to add. Objects like bounce pads that will basically shoot it again or keep it moving.

I watched almightyzentaco's video on the recreation of angry birds and the physics of the ball worked well, but without the bouncing ball property, I cant change the direction of the ball as if it just bounced off a pad.

any help or recommendations would be appreciated!

I would personally use the Physics Bouncing Ball for something like that. You get the realistic collisions without losing the ability to change the direction (although you may have to supplement your change direction code with some physics specific stuff like "set angular velocity" or something to get it work with bounce pads, which I imagine you would want to send the ball bouncing toward a specific direction/angle). I remember using something like this for a top down pool/billiards prototype i did years ago.
