    Bezels for 4:3 aspect ratio?

Does anyone know if its possible to add a bezel to the left and right sides of the screen for a game that is at a 4:3 aspect ratio, as opposed to the black bars?

Off the top of my head, I believe it may require one of the two following methods:

    1) Make the game 16:9 format, but add bezels as a layer over the window and frame your HUD as 4:3 underneath.
    2) Create a 16:9 launcher app, and your game in 4:3 format. Then use a subapp in the launcher to open the 4:3 game.

There may be other possibilities that I'm not aware of though.
